About The Vacationlanders

Maine goes by many names. "The way life should be" and "Vacationland" come to mind. For us, though, Maine is our lived experience and we call it "Home!"

Here at the Vacationlanders, we journey across this fine state, discovering hidden gems, enjoying delicious food, and experiencing the home-spun culture of Maine.

I've always written down my adventures to help organize my thoughts and feelings (not to mention, to keep a record of the little moments you tend to forget).

Enter: The Vacationlanders.

I've always loved the idea of a Maine-centric travel blog. And now, I'm well-positioned to do just that.

But it's not just me. My partner @Emily will be writing articles, too, along with some of our best friends!

What's the story behind the name?

Maine is known far and wide as Vacationland. And we're among the many folks who live, work, and play here! We love our home state.

I have personally mosied through these great United States and I can tell you that Vacationland is special. There's an unmatched sense of community here, a rich cultural heritage, and a welcoming atmosphere.

That's something we aim to capture here and it's why we are The Vacationlanders. We're hoping you'll find value in what we're doing! If you do, maybe sign up for our email newsletter!

What to expect

We plan to post at least one article a week as we embark on our journey to everything that Maine has to offer.

Our continued mission will be to experience Maine's well-known attractions, discover the lesser-known sights, and document community- and state-led events.

We'll review Maine restaurants (#food), share a local's perspective on tourist traps (#adventure), interview local business owners, and more!

Follow Us

If that sounds like a good deal, you can join our email newsletter where we'll share our posts in real time.

Or, if RSS is your thing, then we also have an RSS feed you can copy to your clipboard and add to your favorite reader.

We hope you'll come with us on our journey and experience Maine from a local's perspective!
