A Panini So Nice We Ordered It Twice ("Bell The Cat" in Belfast)

Today we ventured to Belfast where we had lunch at Bell The Cat, a gorgeous cafe that specializes is breakfast, lunch, and fine drinks like coffee, smoothies, milkshakes and more!

This is a cafe style restaurant where you order and pay for your meal at the counter. Then, you're given a number placard. From there, you find a seat and the wait staff brings your food to the table.

The dining area is large and has a modern aesthetic with wood and metal accents. It feels inviting. The lighting is bright, with natural light pouring through the windows. There were some nice pendant lighting fixtures over the booths that brought some charisma, too. And speaking of, the booths seemed custom made. Very keen.

When we arrived through the front door we were greeted by this beautiful Bell the Cat sign that evoked nature and effused a high end feel.

Making our way to the front counter we grabbed a menu and browsed the selection. Truthfully, we've been here many times as BTC is one of the best places for breakfast, lunch, or coffee in town.

I glanced over the menu to see if anything had changed (since this is the first time we've visited since they moved to their current location) but it seemed to be their standard selection.

I ordered a Chicken Pesto Panini which comes with a house-made pickle and a bag of Cape Cod Sea Salt chips. Emily ordered the same.

This sandwich comes with a grilled chicken breast, a tomato slice, slivers of red onion, provolone cheese, and pesto on a focaccia bun.

This hit the spot for me as I'd been hangry the whole ride to Belfast. 😂

I'm pretty picky when it comes to chicken breast and I have to say that BTC always delivers. The meat is perfectly moist, grilled and lightly seasoned. The provolone adds some deep character and a tangy counterpoint to the mild zest of the pesto.

The standard selection of veggies contribute to a complete package. The onion brings flavor to the table while the tomato adds provides it's fruity goodness.

Altogether, this is one of my favorite sandwiches and its my go-to lunchtime meal when I'm in Belfast.

Oh, and remember how I mentioned their drinks at the top of this article? Yep. I got a chocolate milkshake and it was superb.

Emily got a cafe mocha. I had a sip and it was exactly what I'd expect: simply the best coffee in Belfast!
